Our Avengers Date Night #CBias #MarvelAvengersWMT

by kaylynn on September 27, 2012

Tuesday was the Blu-Ray/DVD release of The Avengers movie and my husband and I headed to Walmart to pick it up.  Before heading out I made my shopping list using the Walmart app and then downloaded the Super Hero Augmented Reality App.

Shopping for our Avengers Date Night

We first had to stop at the Marketside Pizza Display to pick up the entree for our Avengers family fun/date night.  I love pizza and was drawn to the boxes with some of my favorite Avenger characters.

We ended up buying a 16 inch Supreme pizza starring The Incredible Hulk.  I couldn’t believe all the fresh, tasty toppings including real tomatoes along with the bell peppers, onions, olives, sausage and pepperoni; all for $8.98 which is an incredible price especially here in Southern California.

Then we headed over to the electronics section of the store to find the DVD.  I was looking for the Exclusive Blu-Ray/DVD/Novel Combo Pack at Walmart and was horrified to see the racks sold out in this option.  But my own super hero, otherwise known as my husband, saved the day.  He found one lone combo pack in the wrong section and we snatched it up!

Of course, we took the scenic tour in the store to checkout making sure to admire all the Avengers themed toys and Halloween costumes.  We have a grandson who would love it all! Be sure to find the trigger points during your tour to take a quiz and other special features with the Avengers Augmented Reality app.

I have more pictures from our shopping experience and date night on Google Plus.  Let me know what you think.

Date Night is Here

The next night we baked the pizza and while it was baking I unlocked additional content with the Super Hero app and was able to envision an entire city on top of the pizza box!

I also started reading the bonus graphic novel that was in the package.  It was a great way to get ready for the movie.  We saw The Avengers in theatres earlier this year and loved the non-stop action and all the super heroes.

Last it was time to try the bonus game in the app and shoot invaders flying through my house – they were even in my dining room!

At last the oven timer dinged and my husband sliced up the pizza.  I couldn’t wait to take a bite as it smelled wonderful.  I wasn’t disappointed and only wish it hadn’t taken us so long to buy a Walmart Marketside Pizza.

It was not boring watching The Avengers again and I highly recommend visiting Walmart for both the DVD and pizza. You can find more about the Avengers and Marvel on Facebook and follow the #MarvelAvengersWMT hash tag on Twitter!

Some Walmart stores are hosting Avengers Character Appearances on Saturday, September 29th, so if you have an Avengers fan in the family check with your local store to see if are hosting the event.
